WHY DHB

A next-generation approach to berberine.

Dihydroberberine (DHB) is an advanced form of berberine designed for enhanced absorption—allowing a lower-dose, more efficient approach to daily metabolic support.*

THE BASICS

What is dihydroberberine?

Berberine is a plant-derived compound that has been studied for its role in metabolic health. Dihydroberberine is a reduced form of berberine that is converted back to berberine after absorption.

Human pharmacokinetic research suggests DHB can produce greater circulating berberine exposure at a lower dose than standard berberine in the studied conditions. That makes DHB an interesting option for a focused daily formula.

COMMON QUESTIONS

DHB, explained simply.

Is DHB the same thing as berberine?

No. Dihydroberberine is a related form that is converted back to berberine after absorption.

How much DUNEZA DHB do I take?

Take 2 capsules daily with a meal, or as directed by your healthcare professional. Each capsule contains 150 mg of dihydroberberine.

Is DUNEZA DHB gluten-free?

Yes. The current DUNEZA DHB formula has been tested gluten-free.

Does DHB activate AMPK?

AMPK is a cellular energy-sensing enzyme. Preclinical studies have investigated AMPK signaling in connection with berberine and DHB, but clinical studies have not established that DUNEZA's finished DHB supplement activates AMPK in humans. Learn more in our AMPK research guide.

Does enhanced absorption mean better clinical results?

Not necessarily. Pharmacokinetic studies measure how a compound appears in the bloodstream. They do not by themselves prove superior long-term clinical outcomes. We keep those distinctions clear.
